           Patricia Ann Benton Tsuyuki

1948~2016

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Patricia Ann Benton Tsuyuki, 67, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2016 at home after battling cancer. She was born on February 2, 1948 in Twin Falls, ID to Clyde and Marjoria Benton. The family moved to Salt Lake City when she was 4 and attended Central Christian Church. Pat later joined Southeast Christian Church, and enjoyed singing with the praise team. She attended St. John's Lutheran and Highland High. She married her high school sweetheart, Mark, on August 31, 1967. She attended the University of Utah and was also employed there for over 30 years, primarily at the Student Counseling Center. Her greatest joys were her Lord and Savior, her family, traveling and the Utes.

She is survived by her husband Mark of 48 wonderful years; children, Lori (Mark) Okino, Karen, and Christopher (Alysia); grandsons, Justin and Keaton, of Salt Lake City; and brothers, George (LeAnn) of Tehachapi, CA, David (Eileen) of Boise, ID, and Bill (Robin) of La Plata, MD. Her parents and sister, Marjorie, preceded her into life everlasting. Viewings will be January 24th from 6 - 8 p.m. at Memorial Murray, 5850 S. 900 E., Murray, and January 25th from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Southeast Christian Church, 1881 E. Vine Street, Salt Lake City. Service to follow at Southeast at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Memorial Mountain View, 3115 E. 7800 S., Cottonwood Heights.

Marsha Draper (Fryer)

Pat was a friend of mine as we sang along together in Madrigals.  She had one of the most caring hearts ever. I wasn't aware of her illness, and I'm sad to see her leaving so soon. Love to Pat and family, RIP dear friend..
