Bud was always a soft spoken, humble sort of guy but very talented.  The Salt Lake Country Club was just down the street from our house (we weren't members) but I used to Caddy there in Jr High and some at Highland.  Thursdays at the club the "Money Crowd" would show up, usually 3 to 4 foresomes....  Everybody would put in $100 for the investment, $50.00 for a low ball and $25.00 a point and they would "Press" 3 or four times during the 18 holes (doubling the bets each time).  These guys were all pretty much Scratch to 3 Handicappers and usually only a few hundred dollars would change hands.... Fabulous recovery shots! However, I saw Harry Ostler (Ostler Chocolates) lose $3600.00... That was a lot of money in the 60's.  Bud played on Highland's golf team and had that very competetive spirit. He will be missed.

Bud and I took drivers training together.  You learn alot about someone while they are driving and riding around in a car for two hours.

We spent a lot of time talking golf and other assorted tales. We golfed toether a few times.  He was a fun person to be with and talk too.  Last time we played he was working in Evanston and came to Salt Lake to have his car worked on.  We played at Glendale, he cleaned my clock.  No big surprise. He was a good friend to have.
