I have lived in many locations and I have experienced many adventures. Utah was my starting point and then off to Chicago, Ill, then off to Grand Haven, Michigan. After Grand Haven we spent several years in the San Francisco area and then to St. George, Utah and then to Flagstaff, Arizona and once again back to Utah. We spent several years in Salt Lake City before heading to Farmington, New Mexico, after Farmington came the wilderness (tongue in cheek), an isolated part of the country with no close neighbors and the nearest town 50+ miles away. School for the kids, doctors, shopping, and essentials, 50 miles away. Hospitals, theaters, restaraunts and recreational facilities were more than 80 miles from our location by way of a wash-board nearly inpassable dirt road. We had entered into the 18th century. Very little running water, little electricity, very few telephones but a lot of wide open space. Next came Pinon, Arizona the thriving city of 100 on the Navajo Reservation. After several years on the reservation we found ourselves moving to California and then back to Utah for a short period of time. Well...another move and this time to Detroit for about a year. Now another move to the Chicago area. No, I'm not finished! San Diego for two and a half years and now a move to Petaluma, CA for four years. There is still more, a delta town along the Mississippi River for two years and finally Mobile, Alabama, from 1998 to the present day, 18 years, the longest stay in one place since I was married in 1969.

School Story

Military Service: No I didn't serve but I feel like I did. My husband of forty-six years served and still does to a degree. The United States Coast Guard was our life and it still is. He retired from Active Duty in 2007 and returned to the Coast Guard as a civilian in 2008. Yes, I served!

Hi Mary! How are you? You may not remember me but I have certainly remembered you all these years. I have an "8th grade moment" to remind you of. It's silly the different things that stand out in minds over the years. Well here goes...you were popular, smart, and a very cute girl . I was so glad we were friends.....
So any way you were running for class president or maybe class secretary and you asked me to be your campaign manager. Wow I was so excited! I recall going to Carol Roghaar's house to make campaign posters for you. Chrisanne Wiscomb, Linda Lindorff and a few other girls were there being creative when Linda cut her forehead open because she was laughing so hard that she bent over and broke a drinking glass that was in front of her. Carol's mom took Linda to the ER so we took our posters over to Chrisanne's house to finish them ! Sorry I got off track a little, I do that a lot lately. So several days later was the assembly....campaign speeches. I was supposed to go first and say a few nice things about Mary, you know introducing her as the best candidate. Well I was ready.... I had my little speech written out ....I even bought a new dress , I was ready to "help" Mary win!! Ok so get out there in front of the Irving Jr High student body, I look out at everyone to show I wasn't nervous but those dang bright lights were shinning in my eyes so when I looked down at my notes I couldn't even see anything, because I had written my speech with a PENCIL!
All I could say was here's Mary ???? I know it has been a long time ago but I still feel badly about my goof-up. Mary, I'm sorry !!!

I hope your life has been very successful! I wish I cold see you at the reunion!

Hi Steve! I remember you in Mr Peterson's Art class. You were really good... I know we had some other classes together. Maybe we can catch up if I make it to our class reunion. I live in Mobile, Alabama. Roll Tide.
