Paul Eskelson

Paul Richard Eskelson died May 23, 1993, of complications from AIDS.

Born December 20, 1947, in Salt Lake City to Oscar Richard and LaRene Fishburn Eskelson. Graduated from Highland High School in 1966, and earned a B.S. degree from the University of Utah in 1971. Served in the U.S. Army Reserve for seven years. After working briefly for First Security Bank, he spent the next 19 years with the Lucky Stores of California and the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel in Honolulu. After taking a medical retirement from the Hilton, he continued to lived in Honolulu until last October when he returned home to be with his family.Paul was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survived by his parents, two sisters and a brother, Mrs. J. Craig Larson (Toni Lee), Mrs. Michael H. Wood (Diane) and Jeffrey Eskelson (wife, Lora); eight nieces and nephews, all of Salt Lake City.

Graveside services Friday, 12 noon, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Dr. Friends and family may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 11 to 11:30 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St.

I agree with Sandi. Paul was a good friend and always so nice and supportive. I liked him very much.

Courtland Cottrell

Paul was a very good friend for many years. He was kind, almost to a fault. He was very intelligent and had lofty dreams and aspirations. He was a good snow skiier and he and I went skiing often. He particularly loved jumping off moguls at Alta. He never got more than 2 feet off the ground, but he thought it was great fun.
