Doug and I were the best of friends. He died when I was in Viet Nam. He and I managed to do the most amazing and stupid thing in man kind.  I had bought an 1956 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight.  That was Oldsmobiles top of the line models.  It was huge and very heavy.  When I bought it the engine was blown. So I went to a wrecking yard and bought an engine.  The problem was how and where was I going to change out these engines.  My grandmother had a big car port and that was the place where the operation took place.  I didn't have a floor jack, so in order to undo the nesecary parts we jacked up the car up with two bumper jacks.  Dougs job was to steady the car so it wouldn't fall over while I got undeneath and undid the parts.  It worked and we got the engine out and the replacement in. I tremble when I think of that.  Doug was a good friend.                                                                                Paul Cederlof
