Susan Boyer (Carson)

Susan Boyer (Carson)

      SUSAN BOYER CARSON

Sue passed away peacefully surrounded by her 4 children on Sunday, April 26th due to complications from cancer. Sue was born on November 7, 1947 to Philip John Boyer & Genevieve Ann Boyer in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sue was married to Melvin Jay Carson on May 18, 1968 in Elko, Nevada and immediately began raising their children in Salt Lake City. After losing their first born shortly after childbirth, she gave birth to four children; Cindy, Scott, Brian and Julie. While raising her children Sue was an active parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church where she volunteered her time in numerous activities. During her later years of life Sue would attend mass regularly at St. Jude Maronite Catholic Church. In 1988, she and Mel moved their family to Bullhead City, Arizona for 5 years and then moved back to Salt Lake City to be closer to her mother and siblings. Sue worked many years of her life at the Cinegrill Restaurant, that was owned by her uncle Eddie Allem, which is where most of her family, including her mother worked. Sue worked most of her adult life doing a variety of jobs, her most recent was working day care at St. Vincent's Extended Care where she was loved by all teachers, staff and especially the students. Although this work was extremely demanding and exhausting, “Miss Sue” enjoyed her job and loved every one of her students. Sue was always happiest spending time with her immediate and extended family. Whether it was the holidays or weekly lunches with her siblings, she could be heard laughing and talking with a joy that all could see. Sue had a zest for life and enjoyed playing games and socializing with friends. One of Sue’s favorite activities was going to Las Vegas or Wendover with family and friends to play their favorite video poker machines. Her main companions were her sisters who would join her and spend the entire night pushing buttons, laughing, singing and acting like a bunch of school girls. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Genevieve, her brother Eddie, her infant daughter Hope and Granddog Toby. Sue is survived by her husband Mel Carson, her four children, Cindy Cruz (Chuck); Scott Carson (Kristen); Brian Carson (Natalie) and Julie Carson and her 12 grandchildren. Due to the current social distancing requirements, we will be holding a Celebration of Life later in the summer for all those who would like to share their memories of Sue. Details will be shared at a later time. In lieu of flowers please donate to St Jude Maronite Catholic Church. https://stjudemaroniteutah.org/donation
